Imagekind Featured Artist - May 2008

My name is David, a 26-year old amateur photographer from Surrey, UK. I graduated with Honours in Environmental Biology and my passions include travelling and nature, as well as photography. Still very much an amateur, but hoping to expand my experiences in photography with the ultimate aim of becoming professional. A wide range of subject matter interests me, although my particular focus at the moment has been on landscapes, both urban and natural. My aim is to capture simple, yet inspiring images - a monochrome cityscape, full of straight lines and infinite shades can be just as thought-provoking as the most complex of technical effects.

Aside from occasionally cropping an image to re-focus the attention, or sampling in black-and-white, I do as little as possible to adjust my images. I consider HDR to be a separate art form, and while I appreciate the technical skill, it denies an artist of the joy and exhilaration of capturing that 'perfect' image. Some of my older images are based on original 35mm prints, while later additions are digital.

As well as selling copies of my work directly on Imagekind I'm keen to get into contact with gallery owners and agencies who would like to sell and display my work in collaboration, both in the UK and in North America.

I'm also looking for testimonials, so please get in touch.
