I was born in the beautiful and remote county of Northumberland on the Scottish border, and spent my childhood in rivers and up mountains. I am a trained musician, specialising in piano, organ and harpsichord. I also sing.

I have been a photographer since the start on 2007, and have discovered for various reasons the magic of colour. My mother is an artist dealing mainly with natural pigments and natural geometric forms. She works in a factory making soft artists pastels uniquely by hand, which is run by the most great and unknown colourist in the world today.

I am inspired by the music of Olivier Messiaen, and his use of colour in music. His synaesthesia was to him a unique form of experiencing the world around, and one to which I aspire and admire.
