Carroll has been working as a professional artist since 1972. Since then, he has amassed a great deal of experience in areas ranging from illustration and graphic design to fine art, studying with artists including Henry Gasser and Pauline Lorentz at South Orange, New Jersey’s Heritage Art Gallery. Carroll has also attended Drake University, the School of Visual Arts, and the Art Students’ League of New York. He holds a BFA in Art History from Drake, while his work at the Art Students’ League of New York won him a Blue Ribbon in its Illustration Competition. Clark Carroll has since held memberships in several professional societies, including the Association of Medical Illustrators, the Essex Watercolor Club, and the Society of Illustrators.
Clark Carroll’s work itself covers a wide range of subjects. Some of his paintings, like “Yukon” and “Beach Shack in the Back,” depict small, cabin-style houses set against sweeping ocean or mountain backdrops. Others, including “Pop Art” and “Barn on the Tracks,” focus on Americana or farm motifs.
