Bio

Shirley Bales was born in 1975 in Riverside, California. Shirley formally studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at Riverside Community College from 1994-1996. Shirley took part in several group exhibitions at that time, and her work was exhibited and published throughout the Western United States. Following her formal education, Shirley worked in Graphic Design where she designed printed materials for many important clients throughout Southern California. During this time, she developed her skills by painting from life and in 2006, Shirley relocated to Tucson, Arizona to paint exclusively. She has been a member of Southern California Plein Air Painters Association SOCALPAPA, and Tucson Plein Air Painter's Society TPAPS. Despite the fact that Shirley has only recently pursued art as a profession, her work already resides in over 150 private collections nationwide.
