Daniel H. Hochstein is a self-taught artist who was born and raised in the borough of Queens, New York City.
He began his life as an artist in his early teens, creating pen & ink drawings in an attempt to record what he witnessed in dreams.

Daniel H. Hochstein is a self-taught artist who was born and raised in the borough of Queens, New York City.

Hochstein describes his inspiration as coming from stress, loneliness, a perceived “lack of time”, and the need to "express concepts that cannot be explained with words”.
His path through life has led him from New York City, to Eastern Long Island, to the San Francisco Bay area, Western Europe and New Jersey.
Hochstein currently works from his studio in Northern New Jersey.
