I am asked all the time , how did I get into painting fishing flies, its a perculiar niche even for a Fine Art trained Art teacher. I gave up teaching fulltime and moved to Speyside in 2004 I wanted more time for painting. I painted landscapes and still lives portraits anything and everything but when I met a good fly tyer and painted a few of his flies, I have become obsessed with these beautiful precious objects.
