Experimentation with materials and subject matter are key elements in my work. Although each work may initially be personal in nature, the paintings can be read by a wider audience through their own unique interpretations. The artworks are about light and form balanced by a sense of place.
I began painting as a young child during an extended illness. Vivid renditions to the movements of classical music has evolved to a passion for art of all types and an enthusiastic desire to draw or paint every moment of every day. Blessed with a natural sense of design, I have successfully maneuvered careers as a self-taught graphic designer, advertising art director, artist coop director and muralist while continuing to pursue my first love - painting & drawing. Currently, my favorite medium is oil, but I have also gone through stages where watercolor & pastel have been my primary medium.
