Willa Stein has been involved in the photographic arts for over 36 years, starting out with a borrowed 35mm camera, a roll of film and a high school shop darkroom. Early on Willa primarily worked with black and white film and fell in love with the art of hand tinting using oil paints. Willa learned the technique of hand tinting photographs while attending The Pennsylvania’s Governor’s School for the Arts on a scholarship at Bucknell University in 1980.
