I live in Washington State but grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland. I was greatly influenced by my Grandmother. She made her living as a portrait photographer and retired in the early 80's after a 40 year career. I learned black and white processing and basic lighting from her.

I worked as a professional bass player for several years until a car accident ended my career. I was furtunate to work with many talented musicians and played across the U.S. from Alaska to Maine. I even played at Seattle’s premier Jazz Alley. Computer-wise, I worked at Microsoft, DEC, the Army Corps of Engineers, and Compaq before leaving the industry completely and opening a welding business. I own The Welding Place. Though I love metalworking, I needed to replace music with another creative outlet. I completed the Professional Photography Course from the New York Institute of Photography. I enjoy nature and wildlife photography and love to hike and bike in the mountains as I search for new areas to photograph. In the winter, I often snowshoe or snowmobile to photographic locations.
