Photography for me is much more than just a hobby... it defines me... it is me.

My main goal is to capture the overall mood of a scene as well as the essence of a thing, always trying to bring out the subject's personality and uniqueness.

I feel I have a real relationship with the images I create, although essentially I only harvest views that either nature or human beings have created.

I started to get serious about taking pictures in 1999. Apart from going through a steep learning curve on how to operate a proper camera, my style, subject and processing has changed...

I started to get serious about taking pictures in 1999. Apart from going through a steep learning curve on how to operate a proper camera, my style, subject and processing has changed over the years. I have gone through a macro phase, a flowers phase and a layering with texture phase. I’m now back on my all time favourite, raw classic black & white imagery and I mainly photograph nature and urban scenes.

Originally I’m from Lauter in Saxony, Germany but have been living in Bournemouth on the South Coast of England since 2001.
