I was born on July 26, 1961, in the capital city of Salisbury, Rhodesia, now called Harare, Zimbabwe. Growing up in Africa I learned to love and respect the beauty of nature and animals. At age six I went to live in Greece with my grandmother for almost a year, and ever since then I consider it my second home. Inevitably, I've developed an appreciation of this country's magnificent scenery and architecture. In 1983 I moved to the United States, and over the course of years have lived in California, Virginia and presently in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Part of who I am, and where I’ve been is the source of my inspiration. I’ve always loved to draw since I can remember. At school art was my favorite subject. Throughout high school and college I studied various media and techniques including watercolor and batik making. As a result I’ve combined these two techniques; what I call "batik on paper".
Information about the art of batik making is available on "My Gallery" page. >>
I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for visiting.
In addition, my batik art images are available on a selection of quality merchandise such as T-shirts, greeting cards, calendars, journals, mugs, pillows and more!
