George Bernard Shaw said, “ You use a mirror of glass to see yourself, you use works of art to see your soul.”
As an artist I feel there is tremendous satisfaction found in creativity of any medium. Watercolor is an exciting experience, because of the fluidity, translucency and freshness.
I am continually inspired by the challenges inherent in this medium. The subjects I return to most often are the Florida landscape, wildlife and floral. Masa paper offers a unique quality to my painting and I use it quite often. Also, I enjoy the diversion to abstract which gives me great freedom in expression and fun.
“Every artist dip’s his brush in his soul, and paints his own nature into his picture’s.”
Henry Ward Beicher
Jayne Morgan is a native of Coral Gables, Florida. Art became a part of her life at a young age, in large part due to her mother's influence and inspiration. She continued her formal education at Miami Dade College in art and design. Unable to fulfill a dream to continue at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, she put aside her art studies but continued painting.
"Art has always been my passion, but not always a reality."
When Jayne relocated to Rainbow Springs, Florida, her art became a reality. She began a transition from oil to watercolor at Florida Community College, after which she studied for twelve years under noted artist Eloise Gardiner Giles.
"For the past years I have been establishing myself as a recognized watercolorist in Northern Central Florida.”
“ I have been inspired by many artists, but most of all my mother who started me on this long journey, which at times has been wonderful, frustrating, maddening but always fulfilling.”
