I love to create beautiful art out of photographs of cut flowers because I see them as a kind of glimpse of an afterlife, or an extension of life. To me , once a flower is cut, it is in it's final moments. It WILL die. It becomes inevitable. The images of cut flowers I produce with a dslr camera and a macro lens show the beauty of a passing life. a glimpse of the end without sadness, just wonder.

I am also concentrating on Rural midwest landscapes for many of my prints and products. I love to show the beauty in the everyday parks we have unbelievable access to. All products featuring images taken at parks will earn a 1$ donation to a conservation group. I want to document these places as fine art photography allows so that perhaps more people will notice the local beauty in their own environments, and perhaps in some way, allow these images to help raise awareness of local conservation issues.
I also paint and draw landscapes and abstracted/expressionist work. I have used photos from my travels to local stateparks, Hawaii, the east coast and overseas in my work. I am heavily influence by Art Nouveau and medieval manuscripts, German expressionism, impressionists, and dutch medieval miniaturists. In the realm of jewelry making I love items that look like they belong to the Victorian era or 1920's, but have a modern twist.
My graphics work is evolving as I explore more programs and find new techniques. I am primarily focused on photomanipulation at the moment and am beginning work on rescuing and restoring vintage european landscape shots left to me by my grandparents.
