T. Kyle Gentry was born in Royal Oak, Michigan in 1974 and grew up in Memphis TN. Inspired largely by Disney movies, Star Wars, and Saturday morning cartoons, he began drawing at an early age. After graduating from High School, Kyle attended college at the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, where he was introduced to the work of classic illustrators such as Norman Rockwell, J.C. Leyendecker, Alphonse Mucha, and Maxfield Parrish, as well as contemporary illustrators such as Scott Gustafson, Peter de Seve, James Christiensen, C.F. Payne, Mark Summers, and Michael Whelan. Soon after graduating with a BFA in 1997, he began illustrating professionally.

Kyle has illustrated for the children’s novel, children’s picture book, medical,
editorial, stationary, music, electronic, and print industries. He is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, and delights in entertaining people with his imaginative images and characters. Although his first love is pencil, he completes his illustrations on a Mac G5 utilizing Corel Painter 11, Photoshop CS4, Autodesk SketchbookPro 2010, and a Wacom Cintiq.
