Roy Guzman

R O Y G U Z M A N is a life-long painter and illustrator who uses his art to communicate; his hands as an extension of his mind. In those hands, imagination is translated with marker, ink, acrylic and watercolor, often comingled in the same piece.

Roy studied fine art wherever classes were offered in Southern California, but prefers to be referred to as an art student of life. For over 30 years, he has earned his keep as creative director for Guzman & Associates, creating branding, product and print art for many different industries, including beauty, toy, high tech and produce.

Never losing sight of his fine art roots, Roy has maintained a fascination with form, both organic and man-made, found in every day life. His work explores humanity at its most primordial, with elements and shapes seamlessly interacting, juxtaposing body and mind. He experiments with journeys into the nature of imagination, from untamed passions and extreme possibilities to peaceful transformations. Ever-changing and ever-expanding.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Roy continues to be inspired by everything around him, but mostly by what's in his mind. Imagination, then, is his ultimate medium, any blank surface his focus, and art his vehicle for expression.
