My name is Mono and I was born in Seattle WA, and now reside in Montana. I live in Montana but my true creativity comes from Washington. I am self-taught and have been painting for 20 years now. My great-grandmother acually taught me how to use oil paints when I was about 11. She let me go to art classes with her through my young teen years. She lived in Greenbank on Whidbey Is, WA. She was fairly popular on Whidbey Is. and her name was Jo Snider. I'm sure her paintings are scattered through out the Puget Sound area. I attended the School of Visual Concepts for a short period downtown Seattle in 1989. I am a wife and mother of two boys now 11 and 14 and, owner of a pizza shop called Little Blue Joint in Darby Montana. (www.littleblue joint .com)
I turn the music up loud and paint in my city loft in the woods. I have a huge studio that I pretend is in Seattle but you open the doors and I'm in Montana mountains. I love it here it's off the grid.
