Mark Rasmussen

I am originally from the great state of Washington, which for those who may not know is two states north of where I am now, in California. I originally moved to the Bay Area to go to more school, then I ended up working at NASA Ames in Mountain View, and I am currently in education. I degree is in science(geology) but I have a passion for art and photography as well. I have always enjoyed drawing as well as photography, and even took some oil painting classes.

My first real photography experience was when I was in college I went to Asia for about a year. My mother gave me her old 35mm SLR camera and a bunch of Fuji slide film, and I took over a thousand photos, which is a lot in the pre-digital era.

A couple years ago I got my first DSLR camera and got serious about photography again, and I especially love photographing the natural beauty of the world around us. My long term goal is to not only sell my photography, but to share my passion for photography by teaching my photography techniques. I also plan to eventually write a book to share what I have learned with others.
