Sarah Cress

Sarah Cress is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she received bachelors degrees in photography and art education, and a masters degree in art education. Upon graduation, Cress began her teaching career at Streamwood High School in 2006 working with all levels of photography students. Cress departed from SHS in 2010 and has spent her summer months developing a comprehensive photography program at Creative Artistry, a beautiful arts school in Crystal Lake. Sarah Cress is a graduate of the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, where she received bachelors degrees in photography and art education, and a masters degree in art education. Upon graduation, Cress began her teaching career at Streamwood High School in 2006 working with all levels of photography students. Cress departed from SHS in 2010 and has spent her summer months developing a comprehensive photography program at Creative Artistry, a beautiful arts school in Crystal Lake. Cress looks forward to her next academic challenge...pursuing her doctorate in education at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. There, she hopes to share her passion for the arts and education with future teachers.

While not in the classroom, Cress enjoys spending her time working on independent photography projects of her own and writing. Cress has recently published two books entitled "Artist Postcards: Creating and Communicating Through the Arts" and “Artist Postcards: The Continuation of an Artistic Adventure,” featuring various Streamwood student work and classroom suggestions.

Cress finds tremendous joy in creating and collaborating with others within and outside her chosen field through problem solving and thinking outside the box. These skills, in addition to her pure passion for the arts and education, have allowed Cress to make a difference within the many facets of her current professional environments.
