I was born and raised in a variety of states in the U.S. My dad worked as a chemical engineer and we moved around a few times until we eventually settled down in Tennessee for my middle school and high school years. I continued to move around after graduating high school, so I have a good taste of a lot of the U.S.

I have always loved the arts - theater, music, visual, dance. I have dabbled in it all, but mainly have focused in the visual arts. I got my degree in art education and have been teaching art to K-5th graders at a Las Vegas city elementary school. Teaching art has given me additional skills and styles I never would have discovered elsewhere.
My strong mediums have been collage and watercolor. My mother has always been an amazing quilter. I've never really delved into sewing, but discovered I liked the style of fabric piecing. My husband and I are expecting our first little one in just a couple weeks, and we decided to do a woodland creature them for her nursery. I originally was going to paint the pictures of animals, but always wanted to try fabric piecing with paper. I did, and after a few attempts, found a style I liked with the woodland creature fox. It was a big success with me and others, so I decided to do more series and subjects.
We'll see where it will take me. I plan on doing additional series, adding to current series, and collaging completely different subjects. Wassily Kandinsky is my favorite artist, so I want to do some collages/paper piecings in his abstract musical style. That may have to wait just a bit until baby is born and gets a bit older. I am sure I will be busy with her for a little while as I will be staying at home to raise her.
I hope you enjoy my collages.
