We are husband & wife illustrators, working out of Austin, Texas after 13 years in New York City and two in Colorado. We hold BFA degrees in communication design from the University of North Texas and MFA degrees in illustration from the School of Visual Arts. These images are from our collaborative picture book, "Little Lions, Bull Baiters & Hunting Hounds: A History of Dog Breeds," which won a non-fiction research grant from the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and the gold medal for juvenile nonfiction in 2008 from ForeWord magazine. Our second collaborative picture book, "Upon Secrecy," which we co-illustrated, was selected a best book of 2010 by Bank Street College of Education. We just finished "Harness Horses, Bucking Broncos & Pit Ponies: A History of Horse Breeds," due out October 2011.
