Maryann Matera-Griffin, Langhorne, PA Member Since May 2007 Artist Statement By profession I am an institutional research analyst for a private university, but my true passion lies in art, writing, music, and dance. I've always been interested in art, but a college course I took in Environmental Art and Literature really helped me focus my interests to nature and landscapes.
My biggest inspiration is not a particular artist or movement, but rather what I see around me - the beauty of a blossoming flower, a flowing creek, a single tree in a field. I find meditative inspiration and clarity from the Tao Te Ching; an influence on the strong presence of water in my artwork. I also practice Kundalini Yoga, which I find helps me center my creative energy, as well.
