Natasha Wescoat, Detroit, MI Member Since December 2013 Artist Statement Art is the heritage of Michigan native, Natasha Wescoat, who comes from a family of artists, including painter Georgia O'Keefe. Natasha has been a full time painter and illustrator since 2004. Since the launch of her business, she has sold over 1000 original works to private and corporate clients worldwide and has licensed art merchandise in stores like Bed, Bath & Beyond, Barnes and Noble, Target and more.
Her artwork has been seen in television and Hollywood films, and is the subject of classrooms, Kindergarten through University level, around the world. The story of her art career has been referenced to in the New York Times and Wall Street Journal Bestseller "Crush It" written by Wine entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk and the Scott Kirsner book, "Fans, Friends and Followers" about web savvy creatives. She has interviewed with Leo Laporte's This Week In Tech and has been a guest speaker and live artist at the SXSW Interactive, BlogWorld & New Media Expo, SmARTCamp NYC and TEDxDetroit.
Natasha cites influences by Gustav Klimt, Vincent Van Gogh and Japanese artist, Takashi Murakami. Natasha's work is a mix of Fantasy, Surrealism and Pop art, which creates a unique and colorful, happy style that speaks to all ages.
