Vivian Hernandez, Fort Lauderdale Member Since December 2008 Artist Statement Born in New York in 1947, Vivian is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico. Her academic background in art and interior design include studies in la Liga de Arte del Viejo San Juan, Escuela de Artes Plásticas de Puerto Rico, San Juan School of Interior Design and the Art School of Minneapolis.
She has studied under the direction of local artists such as Agusto Marin, Cristina Emanuelli, Piero Rossatti, Juan Ramón Velazquez, Betsy Padin and Rafael Rivera Ortíz.
Her work has been showcased in various collective art expositions and local galleries including the Atrium at the Citibank Center, Galerías Colecciones, Galería Telemundo and Artistas Contra el Cancer. In 2001 and 2004 her work earned her second place in the “The Minneapolis Annual Art Competition”.
Currently she continues to develop her artistic skills under the direction of Debbie Fletcher at the Coral Springs Museum of Art in Florida.
