Description I found this Nautilus shell on one of my walks on the beach, what a perfect image for spiritual growth! In order to begin a new stage in our growth, we have to think outside the box. Yet, every time we abandon an old way of seeing things for a new and wider vision, we merely find ourselves in a larger box. And while each box serves its particular function for a season, we are always in danger of claiming that the chamber we currently occupy is the ultimate one. The spiral shape of the Nautilus shell suggests that it can keep growing forever. There is no design for a final chamber. The creature must keep building new chambers as long as it lives. It cannot go back to the previous ones; they no longer fit. It cannot stay in its present space or it will die. It has no choice but to move on. And on. In Christ we are always changing and expanding, it is religion that holds us captive in those chambers.
Johanna Hedderwick, Wilderness - George - South Africa Member Since January 2010 Artist Statement My passion is creating images that reflect the beauty of God's creation. When capturing an image whether of people, landscapes or animals I always go for the dynamic moments hoping to get to the very essence of what I am photographing. I like my images to be bold and strong....most likely a reflection of the way I see how one needs to be to get through this life we have been given, in a victorious way. I hope that you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoy creating them.
