William Allibone, Haddonfield,NJ Member Since February 2010 Artist Statement I have been drawing since I was a child, and I have become more serious in my work in the last several years. I am inspired by natural beauty, in the landscapes and creatures that inhabit our world. I work primarily in watercolor and pastel, although I also occasionally use pencil, graphite and charcoal in my work. Over the years as my technique has evolved, I have also expanded my subject matter to include musicians and other colorful and inspirational people. I enjoy capturing the essence of light and shadow and nature's palette. I employ extensive color blending and bleeding into my work to provide depth and intensity to my pieces. I strive for authenticity in my renderings, with room for artistic interpretation. I find myself attracted to equestrian scenes, both in natural settings and in sporting endeavors. I enjoy depicting local scenery and culture into much of my work as well.
