Description We have been observing this Mourning Dove and her mate starting a few weeks ago as they made the nest, and then as they took turns sitting on the eggs for about 2 weeks, waiting, like expectant grandparents, for the new arrivals. And here they are! Hatched just a few hours ago. The parents feed the young, called squab, a regurgitated liquid call crop-milk for the first few days of life.Photo taken from a safe distance with 40mm lens and zoomed /cropped for closeup.

I have always had an interest in photography & have been the guy with the camera at family events, etc. Now,that I have recently retired, I have the time to study & get serious with this wonderful craft. I am having a great time discovering & learning all the nuances of my newest camera, the Canon 7D. For most of my wildlife images I use the Canon Zoom Lens EF 100-400mm L series. My main interest is wildlife and nature photography, but I will also focus my attention on most any subject that moves me. In addition, I do enjoy manipulating images with Photoshop. I do hope you enjoy as much as I do the fine details of my photographic subjects!
