DescriptionI often drive by this Temple on the 73 when meeting with clients in south Orange County. This angle was much more difficult to shoot than I anticipated as there is no easy access to this location, but I love the morning mist encircling the world behind as the Temple pronounces it's clarity to all driving to work this particular morning. The Newport Temple is a very unique Mormon Temple with it's Spanish architecture and small spire. Many people see this, LDS even, and ask what temple it is.
Kristofer Sundberg, Mission Viejo Member Since October 2009 Artist Statement Nothing quite captures the awe and reverence felt when standing on the grounds of these Latter Day Saint Temples. My family joined the church when i was a kid and would drive down from Northern NJ to spend a whole weekend (mostly at the visitors center for me) at the DC Temple with my Dad's old Minolta. I must have taken pictures of every flower on those Temple grounds. There was definatley something special there that i recognized as a youth. Today my goal is to capture these places with unique lighting and moods that you can't find in a bookstore. I spend countless hours tweaking these images to get just the right look. I hope these images help convey those feelings that I had and still have while visiting these sacred Houses of God. If you have any special requests like adding text or a special size, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you for visiting.
I have been asked by a few Primary leaders and am more than happy for you to use my images to give as gifts to children on their birthdays without charge.
