Description Atmospheric and geophysical influences create the most beautiful, interesting and varied skies in Alberta. The winds coming over the Rockies far to the West, sweeping across the prairies, push the clouds into layers and shapes, and the setting sun lights them from beneath to offer us this beautiful creation. The warm colours belie the freezing temperatures on this -20 degree evening.
I have always enjoyed photographing the great variety of natural beauty in Canada. I was born in Alberta, and although I now live in the beautiful province of Ontario, I return to Alberta whenever I am able. My journey through the Alberta Rockies in August 2008 was a soul refreshing holiday, renewing the connection to my roots as a Prairie Girl, as well as expanding my horizons with stunning vistas of the mountains shouldering each other. In that immense beauty, the human soul can find its peaceful center, and serenity grows like a flower.
Since then, I have taken my camera on many journeys, mostly close to home in one of Niagara's many parks, but looking forward to exploring the far horizons.
