Description A trip to the seaside in october, the North Sea, flat and spacious, no dramatic scenery, a place where most ordinary northern folk spent their childhoods in the caravans just over the break
Sue Gould, Derbyshire Member Since September 2009 Artist Statement Of late I have been calling myself a Community Artist, I enjoy working with groups to help them leave their mark on their surroundings, you can see some examples on my website.
When left to my own devises, I walk a lot in the woods, I have quite an obsession with trees, I think a lot about our connection with the land and with animals. My companions are two Springadors, they need lots of stimilus and I spend a lot of time working on our pack bonds. The work I am doing currently reflects this age old relationship.
I beleive that Art is a way of explaining the world around you and your place within it, as such it has to be therapy. My work is almost always very personal and autobiographical , I use it to strengthen my mental processes and self esteem, which is why I believe everyone should make a self portrait in some form once in a while to see what they discover.
