Dorit Fuhg, Dresden Member Since April 2008 Artist Statement Inspired by traditional film photography, I focus on black & white photography. My passion as a photographer is to capture the mood of a scene as well as the essence of a thing. In my images I enjoy bringing out the personality and uniqueness of what I see. The driving force behind making pictures is my interest in anything naturally beautiful, recording moments and documenting my surrounding.
I have shown my work at exhibitions in Brighton, UK, Toronto, Canada and Dresden, Germany. Some of my photographs have been featured in prestigious international publications such as the Museum of Digital Fine Art and the 1x.com Year Book, a highly curated book of 1x.com.
As Co-Founder of the Art-for-Cancer Group, I helped build a network of artists, who donate part of their sales proceeds to cancer charities of their choice. The group consists of over three hundred members worldwide. I was born 1973 in Lauter/Saxony, and returned to Germany in 2012 after living abroad in Switzerland, Norway and the UK for fourteen years. I now live in Dresden and focus on capturing the unique atmosphere of my new home town and the surrounding landscapes.
