Description The cobbled main square in the Old Town ('Gamla Stan') of Stockholm is dominated by the Nobel Museum and the characteristic colorful houses.Often described as the Venice of the North, Stockholm is the self-styled capital of Scandinavia.
A true photograph need not be explained, nor can it be contained in words.
Originally from the county of Lancashire, Stephen now lives and work in the city of Bristol in the south-west of England. Once a major port (from which John Cabot "discovered" Newfoundland), Bristol is now the home of the UK's aeronautical industries (Bristol, along with Toulouse in France built the supersonic Concorde) and now boasts a major university.
Photography has always been a passion for him, a passion that he hopes is expressed in his work! "It's all about capturing that transient moment in all its fine detail and then being able to deliver it to others. In my opinion, strong photographs should create emotions, and inspiration come from many sources (people, places, joy and sorrow...)".
Stephen enjoys travel, and many of the images in this gallery reflect that, from Stockholm's Gamla Stan and the colorful Nyhavn in Denmark's captial Copenhagen, through a selection of images from beautiful Skagen at the northern tip of Jutland where the Skagerak meets the Kattegat (with its special light which has fascinated and inspired painters for centuries). Stephen says " "there is no great underlying philosophy to my photography, except a desire to share my journey."
