Description I took this shot waiting for the tide to change at Lynmouth in North Devon which hangs below Exmoor National Park. Looking through the old coastguard turret the sun highlighted the thatchers on the roof of the olde inn.
Pat Adams, Bideford Member Since April 2007 Artist Statement I love spotting the changing seasons where I live in North Devon from the first snowdrop in February, the ladybird that heralds the first day of Spring, the return of the house martins in April, the bluebells in May and so on, you get the picture! I count myself lucky to have easy access to both coastal trails and the countryside footpaths which meander through rural farmland flanked by ancient Devon hedgerows teaming with wild flowers, birds, butterflies and insects. My husband, an experienced photographer, and I have enjoyed many years walking in the open air in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter taking pictures of little known and remote places around Bideford Bay and Exmoor. My web site the North Devon Focus is devoted to this corner of England. My favourite walks on the wild side are Peppercombe Valley near Clovelly, Westward Ho! beside the Atlantic Heritage Coast and Doone Country on Exmoor, well known for its association with the novel "Lorna Doone" by R.D. Blackmore. Visit my web site or the North Devon Coast and Country Chronicle Blog http://northdevonfocus.blogspot.com
