Description Opuntia Basilarius is the scientific name of the Beaver Tail Prickly Pear Cactus. This painting is a linear calligraphic interpretation of the special characteristics of this plant. The Beaver tail has larger and much rounder pads that other prickly pear cacti. They also have some magenta coloration.
