Description This image is a photograph of a mural that I painted for a child with a terminal illness, hence the gray colors on the orcas & the dolphins, rather than the correct blue shades, so he could see them easily from his bed
Rick Pearson, Austin, Texas USA Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement Hello. My name is Rick Pearson, and I live in Austin, Texas. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. I have been doing wildlife, science fiction, and visionary art under the company name of Leviathan Productions for over 20 years. The purpose of my work has always been to celebrate the beauty of nature, and the wonders of the Universe, and thereby to teach others about our fragile planet and hopefully to create the desire to learn more about it, and to protect it. During 2004-2005, I started a new phase of my art business, by doing my first murals, at a local public swimming pool. Starting in the fall of 2005, I decided to start volunteering to paint healing murals for children with various types of illnesses, and posted my name and web site address on the web site for an organization called "Artists Helping Children". I am now in the process of setting up a non-profit organization, called "A Brush With Healing", that will provide similar murals, for free, for any child that has a serious illness, and for local hospitals, clinics, homeless shelters, etc., anyplace where healing is needed.
