Description Using the many earth tones with a touch of blue resonates a warm feeling. I added the tree to show what patience it takes to long for spring. To long for leaves each year takes patience, but we all have to exhibit patience at some point.
E. Ashley Sutton, Durham, NC Member Since September 2009 Artist Statement E. Ashley Sutton is self-taught artist from Durham, North Carolina. After graduating from high school in 2000, she continued her education at North Carolina A&T State University. While at A&T she majored in Journalism of Mass Communication with a concentration in Broadcast Production. She discovered her artistic talent in 2002 while in college.
In 2008, she completed a painting course at the Durham Arts Council. At first, the class was supposed to be just for fun, it later became a serious hobby. Her preferred medium to paint with is acrylic paint, but plans to explore both oil and water color mediums.

My style varies and consist of abstracts to landscapes. My inspirations come from the beauty in everyday life. Each day I am thinking of something to paint. I listen to live poetry and spoken word on a regular basis for added ideas and inspirations.
