Callie Hirsch, Brooklyn, NY Member Since August 2006 Artist Statement In 2012, Callie's commission from the NYC, MTA Arts for Transit was installed at 105th Beach Street station in the Rockaways, NYC. Her work has been featured on covers of journals and in articles such as Business Week and LX, Fashion Magazine. She exhibited Internationally as well as in such venues as the Pen and Brush Club, The Parrish Museum in Southampton, NY, and The Salmagundi Club Gallery, NYC. In 2001 she was invited to show in the Biennale Internazionale dell’Arte Contemporanea, in Florence, Italy. In 2004 she took part in a show at the Aukcio-Ernst Muzeum, Hungary. That same year, she had her first experience as a set designer at La MaMa Etc., NYC for Smokin' Word's BODY WORK, playwright: Claudia Alick. Thirteen mannequins from her series, “A Tribe to Remember”, were on display.
