Description Pete's Passage is a large oil portrait (29"x33") of my friend and popular Scottish folk musician, Pete Boond. Pete was a founder member of the band Coelbeg. The painting figures Pete at home on Phantasy Farm in East Linton near Edinburgh, Scotland. I have tried to capture the intensity I see when Pete is playing his music. The portrait is painted with the use of layers of glaze, which was developed by the Masters of the Renaissance period, such as van Eyck, Caravaggio and Rembrandt. I also applied a lot of texture, which adds further depth to the portrait.
