Artist Statement These photographs explore the deep forest, life in between cities, and the usually unseen and unbroken aspects of the wilderness. They reflect my attraction to the relationship between visual balance and tension. In many images visual geometry stabilizes an ethereal atmosphere; nature is both stable and ephemeral.

Polaroid photography was developed to be seamless and easy for anyone to use. This accessibility undermines a sense of formality and produces an image with soft focus and an intimate size, which invites close viewing.
