Description Plovdiv (Bulgarian: ) is the second-largest city in Bulgaria with a population of 331,796. According to the latest census of 2011 , Plovdiv Municipality occupies the second place after the municipality of Sofia. Plovdiv's history spans some 6,000 years, with traces of a Neolithic settlement dating to roughly 4000 BC. A number of respectable sources name Plovdiv as Europes oldest continuously inhabited city.
Anna Yanev, Orlando Member Since June 2007 Artist Statement Born in Bulgaria, Anna was deeply influenced by her life before and after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In 1982, she discovered her potential in photography while working at the Bulgarian Cinematography and Movie Special Effects Studio for five years. In 1991, when Communism lost its hold, Anna determined to leave the country with her children in search of better economic opportunities for her family. Unfortunately, she left her parents, relatives and friends behind and visits whenever possible.
Upon moving to Orlando, she worked for an engineering firm at which time, she was also enrolled in Valencia College ultimately earning her degree in graphic design. Since 2003 she has been employed by a large Orlando architectural firm providing graphic design and further assists in the firm’s commercial photography efforts. She continues to explore fine art photography in her personal life.
Anna focuses on nature photography merging digital mixed media and special effects including cross processing, layering texture and High Dynamic Range (HDR) images, effectively blending technology and the natural environment.
She provides portrait photography and graphic design services for an established modeling agency, models, actors, families and corporate clients.
