Description On the east side of the island near mile marker 29 at sunset. The natural sea arch was created when the hot molten lava flow from Haleakala collided with the cold waters of the Pacific Ocean. On Highway 31 near Mile Marker 31 a calf wanders along the road at sunset as the small herd of cattle browse on wild grasses in the meadow on my right just outside of the frame. The deep haze is Vog, volcanic fog created by the volcanic activity of Big Island of Hawaii which is on the horizon to the East which is to the left in this frame as I am facing South standing here along the eastern rift zone of Haleakala.Pokowai Sea Arch at Sunset Waiopai Kaupo East Maui HawaiiCopyright 2015 Sharon Mau - All Rights Reservedhttp://www.sharon-mau.artistwebsites.com https://twitter.com/sharonmau https://www.pinterest.com/sharonmau https://plus.google.com/+SharonMau https://www.facebook.com/sharonmau
