Description Derek Alvarez, Portrait of Undead John Wayne, iPad Painting using Skecthbook Pro, 2012Monique and I are back in Cortez, Colorado and I opened the local paper to see that they’re having a “Day of the Dead” exhibition in town. Halloween and the Day of the Dead are probably the only holidays I would be inspired to paint something for, so I got pretty excited about this one. Being in the Southwest, I thought it would be perfect to paint an “undead” John Wayne, one of the most bad ass guys of all time already, this portrait makes him even more bad ass, considering he now has a skull for a head.
