Kelsey Scott, New Jersey (no, that's obviously not the city) Member Since June 2011 Artist Statement Hey everyone! I'm Kelsey (as if you couldn't see that from my name, which is conveniently listed above)! I'm currently a Senior in High School. I'm a total nerd when it comes to school, but I'm a pretty weird nerd. I essentially try to do everything (which I guess is pretty typical, but I do a lot of diverse activities). I've been a ballerina for almost twelve years and a girl scout for ten. I also play the flute in the marching band at my school. I do photography for fun, and it's the only visual art that I'm decent at (well if jewelry design counts, then that too!). I love to doodle, but it's all poorly drawn modern art, so it's pretty bad, but it's really fun! I'm currently planning on doing a mechanical engineering and astrophysics double major in college, then getting my masters degree in aerospace engineering. Hopefully I can make a little bit of money from this website so I can pay for college! My dream school Is Brown, but it's highly unlikely I will be accepted. My other top choices include Stanford and Princeton. So, I'll be expecting many rejection letters come next year. Did you really need to know all of this? No, probably not, but it just seemed to flow, so I hope you enjoyed reading!
The thing that makes me unique is my experiences in the medical field. I have come to the conclusion that they must sell doctorate degrees on the back of cereal boxes. It took thirteen doctors and sixteen months to discover a coalition in my foot (two bones were connected by bone). Apparently radiologists can't even find an extra bone... Now I have an extra muscle too! My food has some serious differentiation problems! But the whole two year long experience, plus chronic knee problems and shin splints have made me realize a lot of different things about myself, which I don't feel necessary to detail here. If any of you are curious or need some support though and just happen to stumble upon this, I'd be glad to talk to you in the message box! I mean who really wants to talk to a stupid teenager? But I figured I'd offer anyways.
Photography wise, I love to look at nature through the lens. I think I've gotten a lot better, considering I've only taken Photo 1 at my school due to scheduling issues (I mentioned NERD, right?). So basically everything is just what I've noted and learned from constructive criticism and looking at other artwork. I really appreciate any comments, positive or negative because it's how I learn! So please comment! :D
