Description The image is of Sigmund Freud, presented here as the Foundational Rock in the development of Psychoanalysis. The Rock is buried in the desert similarto the iceberg analogy representingthe conscious and the unconsciousmind which dominated FreudsPsychoanalytical Theories. The Desert, more Biblical then Freudian is a place of self awareness and discovery. The Ladder descending into the unconsciousrepresents Therapy and the struggle to understand our own behaviors, while the boat and the tree symbolizes hopefulness for the cracked and parchedearth, is not completely devoid of lifebut is meant only as a journey we must all take to discover who we areand what we might become.Psychotherapy is an art piece filledwith symbolism and meaning
