Description This photograph depicts a New Ideas manure spread ca. 1900, located on the Pearson farm Hamburg, Carver County MN Invented by a school teacher in Ohio to aid the farmer with fertilizating crops so that farm children could go to school more regularly. This image is part of The Barns of Carver County, an ongoing project that documents the historical barns in the county. A portion of the proceeds of this image is donated to the Carver County Historical Society, Waconia, Minnesota.
Ruth Tremblay, Waconia, MN Member Since November 2008 Artist Statement Ruth Tremblay is a Minnesota photographer and artist. Her current work "The Barns of Carver County" is an artistic and historical effort that documents the barns and farmsteads that are disappearing from the local countryside. Ruth photographs the barns that still exist and captures the barns that have long faded into history with pen & ink and watercolor. Ruth has been an artist for over 25 years. "Preserving history for future generations in my art makes this one of my most significant works" says Ruth.
