Kimberly Balentine, Raleigh, NC Member Since January 2013 Artist Statement I am a Raleigh native and have painted since I could hold a paint brush. I studied visual art at ASU however, my major was in Communications with a minor in marketing, so I could later pursue law. I married a Brit and moved to England where I studied painting with Jen Rossi on the Isle of Wight. Later, I would return as the feature artist during the Tall Ships Race in 2001. I have had paintings shown in a gallery in Cowes, Isle of Wight, England. I have also shown in various galleries on the eastern shore in North Carolina. I am happy that my paintings are collected in homes in various countries. Today, I teach art at St. Timothy’s school in Raleigh to eager teens. I offer adult classes in the evenings. Creating art makes me happy and complete. My inspiration comes from the beauty God has provided both in objects, animals, landscape and travel. I use many different mediums from watercolor pencils, pastels, acrylic, and mixed media.
