Description Derek Alvarez, Ranunculus in Greek Vase, iPad Painting using Skecthbook Pro, 2012I put this arrangement together from a couple reference images and my imagination. The lighting is far from realistic, but all the color choices were made with the intention of creating a brilliant color harmony that compliments and showcases the flowers. I saw some ranunculus in a magazine and just loved the shape of them. The ones I saw in the magazine were all pink, but I found out they have some peachy and reddish colors, as well.Ive been inspired by Greek art while living so close to Greece, so I placed the flowers in a Greek Vase that I created from finding a Greek drawing and placing it on the shape of vase I wanted. The drawing reference I found says the woman is Aphrodite riding a swan. The original drawing didnt seem to do her justice, so I drew her a little more pretty (I mean she is the goddess of love, after all ;-)
