Artist Statement I moved to Seattle in 1989 and have been living in West Seattle since 2001. I grew up in different parts of Europe admiring not only the art of the greats in France and Germany, but also the work of my grandfather Pan Pfeiffer. His mix of german emotional expressionism and philosophical ideas of french impressionism still find a place in my work today.
While I have grown as an artist over the years, color and emotion are always my main objective. In the late 80’s I was trained in oils at the rather conservative Wright State University in Ohio, but soon moved on to acylic paint and the multitude of mediums and gels, even incorporating liquid plaster at times.
After becoming a mother in 2003 my time in the studio was limited and I started to explore the artistic possibilities of photographs and digital art applications. Since 2010, I have become a mixed media artist, working with paint, canvas and incorporating digital medias either directly or as inspiration.
My current body of work is ever evolving. The tools I use vary, but the main emphasis is the same it has always been. Color and Expression.
My goal for the future is to continue my exploration of the human condition by exploring memory, vision and feelings through the visual arts.
I have been creating art since the late 80's and have sold many works over the years. Most of my patrons reside in the USA but others are from part of Canada, Germany and Italy.
