Description Phoenix abstract watercolor painting on Arches cold-pressed paper, 22'X30'. A Phoenix rising from red and orange flames represents rebirth or a new beginning. A Phoenix is reborn from ashes, soaring with incredible force and power into a new self. It seems to me that new life, a new self, and a new mind often come after pain and adversity. I painted a Phoenix in abstract, where circles symbolize cycles of birth, death and rebirth. The original painting has been sold.
Hailey E. Herrera Watermedia Member Since January 2012 Artist Statement I am a watermedia artist who loves learning new techniques and experimentation. I love the watercolor medium for layering, colors, and transparency which appeals to my sense of spontaneity. I primarily work in watercolor; however, I dabble with ink and acrylic and use them in combination with my watercolor. I like to experiment on different surfaces and textures, as well. Currently I am a member of Brazos Valley Art League, Watercolor Art Society-Houston, Texas Watercolor Society, and National Watercolor Society.
I hope my creations bring you joy and an increased appreciation for the medium and subjects of my paintings as much as it does for me.
