Marcia Baker, Rangelely, Maine Member Since March 2008 Artist Statement Baker's energetic and vibrant paintings represent her connection with the woods and coast of Maine. She is an avid ecologist and sportsperson. Favorite outdoor pastimes, like kayaking, canoing, fly-fishing are woven into stories. Sporting images of fly-fishing, alpine- or cross-country skiing, upland bird-hunting, are captured from adventures with her husband. Yet, wandering in a lupine field prortrays moments of peacefulness. Her paintings are inspired by her adventure trips to the Amazon River, Alaska, the jungles of Ecuador, Belize and Newfoundland. Her hope is "to pass on those inspiring moments" to you!
