DescriptionTaken from the bottom of a staircase at the Rockefeller Arts Center, SUNY Fredonia. The architect that built the complex was I.M. Pei and buying stock in concrete manufacturers before he built the complex would have been very wise. This wasn't 'sepia toned' the lights in the staircase gave the concrete the warm glow.
Steven Yunghans, Fredonia Member Since July 2008 Artist Statement By nature, I'm a photographer but I started out in drawing/illustration. The oil pastels started out in a sketchbook as playful experimentation with a set of oil pastels I found in an office supply store. I've never liked oil pastels because they were so small and didn't offer much color/coverage. The ones I found were "huge" in comparison and allowed me to do what I had instinctively wanted to do with them.
